It is an Elected Position There are six elected Central Committee positions for each Assembly District (14th AD, 15th AD, 16th AD, 18th AD, and 20th AD) for a total of 30 elected positions. In order to be placed on the ballot, you must be nominated by registered Republican voters in your Assembly District. Once on the ballot, you are elected by Republican voters every two years in the primary election (this year on June 3, 2008).
Central Committee Duties Support and promote Republican principles and platforms within Alameda County; Register new Republicans and encourage all Republicans to vote in every election; Bring new volunteers into the Republican Party; Sustain and grow the county Republican campaign organization; Recruit Republican candidates; Campaign for election of Republican candidates; Endorse specific Republican candidates and support or oppose state ballot measures/propositions.
